In 1984, she signed a recording contract with Gary Numan's label Numa Records, and released a catchy dance single called Pump Me Up. Written and produced by Numan, the single hardly sold, and Numan admitted later that his label was probably to blame. His superior original version of the single can be found on his 1985 album
'Berserker.
Pump Me Up Lyrics
Pump Me Up
Send in someone else
I'm tired of romance
They call me 'the game'
And anyone can play
Won't you come in and play with me
They call this 'the house'
We have need without feeling
Do you want the shame
I can't escape from the sound
Won't you come in and play with me
My heart beats slowly
I'll tear your heart to pieces
I'm the face of love
And this love burns cold
Won't you come in and play with me
The Picture
So, they call this love then
Who would believe how hurts and how it burns
So, they call this love then
Who would believe that I’m scared and I’m alone
I could tear you picture
Try to change the memory
But I miss you
How I had this feeling
Such desperate feeling
I need you
So, they call this love then
Who would believe how I need and how I feel
So, they call this love then
Who would believe that I’m tired and I’m lost
I could tear you picture
Try to change the memory
But I miss you
How I had this feeling
Such desperate feeling
I need you
