New Anger was to be the first single for IRS it introduced a new electronic sound to Gary's music; the result was of the purchase of some new equipment. It also brought with it a new leather image with designer jackets and superb new photos for the record sleeves. There was no video and little airplay, and while Gary made an appearance on a children's TV show, this was not enough to give him a hit. The two 12" did not feature extended mixes of the single. New Anger got to No 45 in the UK charts..
