Gary Numan: I don't believe that fans make an artist. It's rather like the chicken and the egg, which came first, the song or the fan? I do believe that my fans are amongst the most loyal I've ever known, staying with me despite almost total criticism from the written media and some others. This was one of the main reasons that I continued to stage rather lavish shows at considerable loss to my bank balance. It was my way of saying thank you. These two "live" albums are the final installment of the Numan/Machine section of my career. With no more stage shows a live album in the future would be impossible, and I do think that live albums are of considerable interest, it has certainly been so for me. This is why I decided to end with the release of these two albums, as a final summing up of the story so far. Once again, thank you with all my heart for making these last two years the most exciting of my life, and for making these concerts a very great
pleasure.
