Recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London, England on September 25 & 26, 1987. Includes liner notes by Rod Reynolds. One of many Gary Numan live albums, including several historic ones featuring his original postpunk band Tubeway Army, GHOST was recorded in 1987 during the European "Exhibition" tour. This two-disc, 19-track collection features a well-chosen song list slightly weighted towards newer material at the expense of better-known early songs. That said, Numan does include a good smattering of early hits, including "Down In the Park," "Me, I Disconnect From You," "I Die, You Die," and of course, his two signature songs "Are Friends Electric?" and "Cars." Newer material like "Berserker," "We Are Glass," and "We Take Mystery to Bed" sounds slightly fresher, but overall, it's a well-played, spirited collection. Not bad for someone who claimed early in his career that he would stop touring forever.
