Forum Rules and Policies
The following rules apply to posts in all Numanme.co.uk discussion forums, including the content of "signatures" and avatars: The final say and interpretation of these rules for specific instances rests with the Administrator and Moderators.
We welcome you to participate in the Numanme.co.uk Community, however as with all social circles there are a few rules you must abide by in order to maintain your active membership within these message boards. We try to provide the highest quality community experience for all of our members and following these guidelines is the best way to maintain a quality environment for all age groups. If we find that you break any of these rules, your account may be disabled or deleted and your posting privileges removed. These rules must be fully understood by all members, so we recommend you read them fully thanks for your cooperation.
This forum is moderated, and if the moderator sees a post that he or she thinks does not comply with the rules then it is deleted or closed without an explanation. All actions, moderation, and administration of Numanme.co.uk are decided by the staff only and are not open to debate. As for the topics only I (forum admin) can delete them. This is very important for every member to take on board, so I don’t have to waste time with pointless posts.
We are an English-speaking community. Please post in legible English ONLY.
When you register, you are required to give a small amount of information, much of which is optional, anything you do give must be considered as becoming public information.
1 - Gary Numan.
Anyone using any material towards Gary Numan or his family, that is vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, or inflammatory, or post to annoy other members or Gary Numan. This includes members who post negative comments about Gary in every post just for the fun of it. If you do you may have your post or account deleted immediately, there will be no warnings given!
2 - Other Gary Numan Fan sites.
Post containing material defamatory about any other Gary Numan fan site or forum will be deleted immediately without any warning or explanation!
3 - Personal Attacks/Be civilized.
Numanme.co.uk will not tolerate Personal Attacks on members or members of other forums. This includes any material that is vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading others' privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any laws. Do not use objectionable language. If you insult someone "jokingly", be prepared to have it not interpreted that way by the Moderators. A good general rule: "Criticize ideas, not people." Any language that encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense is grounds for immediate account deletion. Don't make posts that are inflammatory just to annoy people. This includes members who post negative comments in every post just for the fun of it. If you do you may have your post or account deleted immediately, there will be no warnings given!
4 - Valid Email.
Members must have a valid email address. If not, you may have your account deleted immediately. There will be no warnings given.
5 - One Account.
Each forum member may have only one account. If you do have more than one you may have your account deleted immediately.
6 - Post in the right forum.
Post in the right forum! You may have your post deleted if you post in the wrong forum!
7 - Topic Subject.
Use descriptive Topic Subject. This will help others find what they want to read. Topics with bad Topic subjects may be deleted!
8 - Cap Locks.
No Cap Locks. Please do not post messages with the subject or post all in capital letters, or your message will be deleted. Words all in capitals are not only annoying but are read 50% slower than normal writing. If you do you may have your post deleted immediately, there will be no warnings given!
9 - Signatures.
Signatures will be no longer than 4 lines. Signatures may contain 1 image (max. 250 x 100pixels). Signatures may contain a link to your site or sites that may be of use to other members, No Blatant advertising! Signatures are expected to follow the same guidelines as posts. If you do you may have your post deleted immediately, there will be no warnings given!
10 - Do not post racist or 'hateful' material.
This means no racist/homophobic comments, period. Making hateful comments, directed at a person or group, may get your account immediately suspended. We are extremely serious about this. Numanme.co.uk is not a place for racial bigotry or hateful speech. If you do you may have your post or account deleted immediately, there will be no warnings given!
11 - Pornographic material.
No pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or objectifying material. This includes suggestive images, graphics, and comments. Do not post links to sites with pornographic or objectionable content. Only link to sites that are for family viewing only. If you do you may have your post or account deleted immediately, there will be no warnings given!
12 - Politics and Religion.
Politics and Religion. This is not a political or religious site; this is a Gary Numan website. Anyone posting political or religious posts will have your post deleted immediately with no warnings given.
13 - Advertising.
NO Blatant. This forum is not a free advertising space. NO Spamming. No commercial posts or flooding the forum with useless content. Except for Gary Numan sites you are more than welcome to post anything to do with Gary here. If you are uncertain in any way, please contact one of our moderators.
14 - Keep messages on-topic, and don't cross-post.
Post in the appropriate forum for your topic, and don't post similar messages in multiple forums. Don't create new threads when an existing one will do. Please use the forum Search before posting a new topic.
15 - Respect others' privacy and belongings.
Don't post PMs, e-mails, or other private correspondence in public forums phone numbers, addresses, pictures, etc. Don't make private information about other users, public. Don't take an avatar or other graphics and use them as your own, or as the basis for your own, without permission of the owner. If you do you may have your account deleted immediately. There will be no warnings given!
16 - Disagreement.
If a member has a disagreement with another member or moderator, they must settle their difference by private email by contacting one another or asking for another moderator to help resolve the disagreement, do not use the Private Message function or post on the forum. Neither should the Chat room be used as a rant room. If you do you may have your account deleted immediately. There will be no warnings given!
17 - You're responsible for what you write.
Message content. You the member remain solely responsible for the content of your messages including any pictures or graphics. Numanme.co.uk takes no responsibility for the content of any of the messages posted in these forums or for the authenticity of its authors. All opinions and views expressed in the Numanme.co.uk forums are solely those of their respective authors and are not necessarily those of Numanme.co.uk or its representatives. By posting on the Numanme.co.uk forum, you agree to abide by the rules and terms. Members are responsible/liable for the content they post or PM. [This is a public forum thus you can be held legally liable for whatever you post on Numanme.co.uk.]
18 - Freedom of Speech.
Freedom of speech is not using vulgar words that are offensive to others, or calling members names like idiot. Would you want to be called an idiot? of course not because it hurts... That's why we have to censor, and avoid using vulgar words. We have been given freedom of speech but it doesn't mean we can say anything, even those offensive things... We have to be responsible in using this freedom, we have been given. Freedom doesn't mean we can do whatever we want: we can’t punch the person we hate because we have freedom... That's a big NO. Remember, freedom, our freedom is not absolute... Freedom is coupled with responsibility!!!!!!
Freedom of speech on Numanme.co.uk you do not have absolute freedom of speech at Numanme.co.uk. Your freedom of speech is limited by the Numanme.co.uk rules. If you can't handle that, then this is not the forum for you. There are plenty of other forums out there where there are no rules or where the rules are not enforced at all, where people flame each other left and right. Numanme.co.uk is not one of those forums. The rules are clear and fair. Without them, this place would just degenerate into something similar to Other Boards, Numanme believes with the proper Moderators and intelligent thought-out posts by its members, without inflammatory remarks, the forum will flourish.
19 - Reporting Members breaking Rules.
If you do find a page, that breaks any of the rules please report it by Email, PM, or hit the report button of the offending message. If you are found breaking any of the rules you may have your account deleted immediately. There will be no warnings or explanations given! so if you do find your account disabled or deleted, please don’t email Numanme for any kind of explanation.
20 - Forum Chat Room.
Feel free to use the Forum Chat Room whenever you like, please remember that the chat room is un-moderated so be careful, if you are easily offended this is no place for you!!
21 - Moderators have the final say.
Numanme.co.uk administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit, relocate, and/or remove any message, at any time, for any reason. Consider all editing decisions final. If you don't agree with a decision, you may discuss it with the moderator who made the judgment in private. If you cannot resolve this with the Moderator, feel free to contact any of our other moderators this must be done by email or PM. Numanme.co.uk discussion forums are moderated by a group of volunteers who have to make difficult decisions, read a lot of messages they aren't necessarily interested in, and deal with complaints, daily. The Moderators are not babysitters. If your actions make the Moderators' job more difficult, it hurts the community. Participating in this site is a privilege, not a right—and everyone's cooperation and adherence to the above rules is an absolute necessity. If you encounter users/messages violating these rules, please report it to the moderators.
22 - Rule Change.
Numanme reserves the right to change the aforementioned rules at any time without warning or notice. It is the responsibility of the forum member to check this page on a regular basis for any revisions in Numanme rules before making any posts to the forum.
By registering to use this forum you meet the above criteria and agree to abide by all of the above rules and policies.
